Here's one of my very favorite recipe "Mango pachadi"/"Maangaai Pachadi" ..which is usually prepared for Tamil New Year in our place ..
It has sweet and sour taste which makes it as a yummy recipe .. :)
Preparation time: 15 mins
Cooking time: 15 mins
Serves: 3
Ingredients:
Raw Mango - 1 (250 gms)
Jaggery - 200 gms
Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1 pinch (optional)
Tempering:
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - a string
Method:
1. Prepare raw mango by washing and peeling ..then chop it roughly ..



2. Add in small amount of water in a heavy bottomed pan/kadai, start boiling ..Once it is boiled, add in peeled mangoes .. once it is half-cooked add in turmeric powder and red chilli powder ..adding salt is optional ..



3. Add in jaggery when raw mangoes are completely mashed ..Stir it once ..Let it be in simmer for few minutes ..


4. Now start tempering in a tadka pan/small kadai, by heating oil, splutter mustard seeds, add in urad dal and curry leaves ..once dal turns brown pour it over the mango pachadi ..
5. Your tasty mango pachadi is ready ..Serve hot :) tastes well with curd rice ;)
